Big Thanks

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Big thanks to everyone that donated (either in kind, blood or money) to the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief. As long as everyone extends a helping hand, those that suffered had a chance to recover and rebuild.

And again to those that have been waiting to help out. You can still do…  visit:

www.redcross.org
www.salvationarmyusa.org

Again, thank you very much for helping out.

Well, as for this web log page, I have found it hard to add posts to this one on the fly, so this is probably the last post or more likely there will fewer posts to this one. Visit http://kubonismo.blogspot.com/ for updated posts.

Hurricane Katrina

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Well, the situation looks really grim at the disaster areas, and it hurts looking at the news and not being able to help the folks that have not evacuated and are suffering, and come to think of it that I was just at Biloxi last year for my training where I stayed for 2 months and from what I hear, Keesler Air Force Base was hit pretty bad just like the rest of the surrounding areas. It just is really looks bad. But the good news is there is something that we can all do to help…

Right now the Red Cross and the Salvation Army are accepting monetary donations only and you can reach them by visiting the following websites and phone numbers (it took me a while to get through their servers):

www.amazon.com/gp/philanthropy/red-cross.html (red cross via amazon, just in case the servers are busy)
www.redcross.org/donate/donate.html
1-800-HELP-NOW

1-800-SAL-ARMY

Please check take the time from your busy schedules and check them out.

My unit will not be going to the disaster areas due to our operational missions but other units in my base have been deployed to the hard hit areas to help out in the recovery process. http://www.nellis.af.mil/home.htm
